In view of Mothers Day, this programme seeks to remember all mothers, especially Christian mothers. Included here are testimonies of some youths and a young mother, as well as a portion of the message, How To Relate To Parents, preached by Rev Dr Quek Suan Yew in Calvary Pandan B-P Church on 4 August 2012. The book of Proverbs provides abundant teachings for children. It teaches that children should never brush their parents aside, cast their mother away or look down on her especially when she is old. What else does Proverbs say about the role and duty of both the young child and the grown-up in relation to their parents?

Rev Dr Prabhudas Koshy gives a total of 17 practical counsels for parents to bring up their children spiritually. Through this exhortation, parents will learn not just ways to guide their children, but the importance of their marriage and own personal walk with the Lord in the spiritual nurture of their offspring.

In this devotion, Pr Lek Aik Wee speaks on the parental mandate, parental direction and the mark of honour in child-training, based on Proverbs 22:6.

The wife or mother is here exhorted to support and assist in family devotions. Among the various lessons taught, she will learn that while the head of the home should lead, there must be unanimity and co-labouring with him in the teaching of the Word to the children. It is important that she firmly cultivates discipline in her children from young to make family devotions a priority, eg. making sure they get up early. On the negative, she should neither be a hindrance nor exert her own ideas and opinions during family devotions. If her husband is an unbeliever or backslidden, she ought to take it upon herself to lead her children spiritually. Listeners will also get to listen to a testimony of a sister who will share the blessings she receives from family devotions.

How should one prepare herself before the meditation of Gods Word? What advice is given for the reading and application of it? Rev Dr Paul Ferguson spoke on the topic, Planning & Praying, from Nehemiah 2:11-20 during the prayer meeting at Calvary Tengah B-P Church on 18 September 2012. This message is about Nehemiahs dutiful and faithful preparation of the work God had called him to do. While he trusted Gods sovereignty, he did not negate his human responsibility. What did he do to show this? What may the listener also learn with regard to the work of the Lord being opposed by the workers of Satan?

Rev Dr Paul Ferguson gave this exhortation on 4 Sept 2012 during a prayer meeting in Calvary Tengah B-P Church. Based on Nehemiah 1:5-11, he teaches listeners that their prayers must include the worship of God, confession of sins and specific prayer requests that are in accordance with Scripture. They are also to appropriate Gods promises in faith, as did Nehemiah. In relation to Nehemiah asking God for the favour of the king, Rev Ferguson says, Before we hope to persevere with man, we must first persevere with God.

This is the start of another series on Prayer. The message is preached by Rev Paul Ferguson on 28 August 2012 in Calvary Tengah B-P Church. Rev Ferguson speaks on the man, Nehemiah how he readily approached God in prayer when he was in need and distress. Him and other examples of prayerful people included in the exhortation are to encourage listeners to put seeking God as top priority when looking for help and answers in lifes troubles.

Who is this lady? Where does she appear in Scripture? What did she do, and for whom? Through her account, one may have a better understanding of her story and her character.

Was Rachel beautiful outwardly? Was she beautiful inwardly? What is Gods perspective of beauty? Listeners will learn what the Bible says about these things, as well as from a book extract not to compare and compete with others but be contented with the gifts God has given. The poems recited speak of waiting on God and His timing. May sisters learn from these lessons related to Rachels account.

From this lady found in the Old Testament Scriptures, listeners may learn of the strength of her character by what she did and the manner and purpose behind it. Jochebed exhibited her faith in God, and her faithfulness and love of a mother. References to her can be found in the books of Exodus, Numbers and Hebrews.

Together with her husband, this New Testament lady committed a grievous sin that cost both their lives. What Sapphira did, and the connection between secret sins and outwardly manifested sins will be covered in the devotion.

What are some positive and negative traits of Rebekah? What was her faith like? How did she express it (or the lack of it)? How was she as a stranger to others? How was she as a mother? The devotion seeks to look into these areas of Rebekahs life for the learning and application of the listeners.

In this discussion, the following questions (and more) will be addressed: Before my child is born, how can I prepare myself for my role as a mother?; At what age should we include our child in family worship?; and Can one be overly strict in disciplining a child? New mothers will be given both practical and biblical advice that they may be mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually more prepared for motherhood.

This session is a discussion of human and animal cloning, and what the Bible has to say about it. How should the endeavours of trying to genetically create or modify an organism be viewed in light of who God is and His revealed purposes for man?

In his sermon dated 1 August 2012 and entitled Time to Wake Up, Rev Paul Ferguson exhorts and exerts that Christians must awake from their spiritual slumber of lethargy and sinful living in such a time when Christs return is imminent. Part of the sermon text from Romans 13:11-14 reads: now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light (vv11&12).
